Marta Popyk

Marta is a Ukrainian lawyer who works with Member of the House of Commons of Canada Ms. Julie Dabrusin, who is also serving as the Parliamentary Secretary for the Minister of Natural Resources and to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. Previously, she was assistant to the Member of Ukrainian Parliament Ms. Inna Sovsun in the committee for energy and utilities. Besides fostering clean energy transition in the public sector, Marta was leading the regulatory function at the biggest renewable energy producer with foreign investment in Ukraine. She tailored her legal background with passion to renewable energy when participating in Kyiv School of Energy Policy organised by DiXi Group and Florence School of Regulation Course on Regulation of Power Sector. Marta wants to explore the role of renewable energy in resolving the current crisis, and what can Ukraine do to keep green investments within the country despite the difficulty of serving feed-in tariffs. Marta holds her BA in Law from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. In 2017, she participated in the DAAD Study Tour to Germany focusing on energy policy as a security policy in times of crisis in Germany and the European Union.
