Muhammad Mustafa Amjad

Mustafa is Project Manager at the World Wind Energy Association. He is an energy and climate change researcher from Pakistan, working on a diverse array of subjects from energy policymaking to climate justice. An engineering graduate and a Fulbright scholar, with a specialization in wind power systems from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Mustafa has been working within the energy sector of Pakistan on various national and regional projects, with a primary focus on increasing the share of renewable energy in the national grid while ensuring a just energy transition. His current work includes chalking out provincial renewable energy policies, developing knowledge products to promote renewable energy uptake in the country as well as modelling the national grid by calculating the systems cost of electricity. In addition to this, he has also worked with Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change in various capacity building, youth-focused and energy-relevant projects and interventions.

During his time at Agora Energiewende as an EnerTracks Fellow, Mustafa will investigate global best practices around Renewable Energy Auctions and try to chalk out correlations and tradeoffs involved in an optimum auction design for Pakistan.
