The Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) is an independent think-tank, which combines research excellence with policy advocacy for piloting social innovation and institutional reforms in Bulgaria and in Europe in a number of areas, most notably energy governance and energy security, economic competitiveness, good governance and anti-corruption, security, migration and human rights. Following Bulgaria’s entry into the European Union in 2007, CSD has specialised in green energy transition and energy diversification policy research and advocacy for improving national and European energy policies. CSD houses more than 30 experts in four departments.
