Prof. Dr. Katrin Schaber
Katrin Schaber has been Professor of Energy Economics at Biberach University of Applied Sciences since 2019. Her expertise encompasses teaching and research in the areas of renewable energy integration, digitalisation of the energy sector, and flexibility provision.
Prior to this, she spent two years at The Mobility House, where she was responsible for marketing the flexibility of electric cars in various European electricity markets. From 2014 to 2017, Katrin Schaber worked as an energy industry analyst at Stadtwerke München. There she developed electricity and gas market models and worked in particular on the interaction between the electricity market and grid as well as on flexibility marketing. In 2011 and 2013, Katrin Schaber co-authored the World Energy Outlook at the International Energy Agency, focussing on electricity grid expansion, market integration of renewable energies and building energy consumption.
Katrin Schaber holds a degree in physics and completed her doctorate on the European grid and market integration of renewable energies at the Technical University of Munich in 2014.
