Project Manager Southeast Asia Power System Transformation
Dr. Arne van Stiphout is Project Manager in the Power System Transformation team at Agora Energiewende, where he is responsible for the team’s work on grid development and renewable energy integration in Southeast Asia.
Previously, he worked for a start-up developing software tools for the operations and maintenance of decentralized energy infrastructure, and for a social enterprise developing solar mini-grids and training field technicians in Myanmar’s energy access sector. Before that, he performed academic research on power system balancing services and cross-border coordination in the European context.
He obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering that focused on long-term power system modeling and the impact thereon of short-term operational flexibility constraints in highly renewable power systems. Arne holds an M.Sc. in Energy Engineering from KU Leuven (Belgium), and an M.Sc. in International Public Policy from University College London (UK).
