Christine Juta
Project Manager Southeast Asia Power System Transformation
Christine Juta joined Agora Energiewende in January 2024. Her work focuses on the transformation of power systems in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam.
Christine was previously part of the Power Futures Lab, based in the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town. There, her research explored the political economy of a new wave of power sector reforms in Kenya, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, focusing especially on market design, system operation and regulation. Christine has also worked for Global Energy Monitor where she led the Africa Gas Tracker to provide a comprehensive dataset of gas infrastructure across Africa. In addition, Christine was a research trainee at the Florence School of Regulation (FSR) and was part of the team that established the FSR Global regulatory hub in New Delhi, India.
Christine studied Electronic Engineering at Harare Institute of Technology. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Renewable Energy from the University of Zimbabwe.
