Dr. Samarth Kumar

Samarth Kumar works as Project Lead within the Energy Data and Modelling Hub of Agora Think Tanks (Agora Energiewende, Agora Industry, and Agora Agriculture), focusing on harnessing data and modeling to accelerate the transition to climate neutrality. In his role, he collaborates closely with Agora's global partners, to develop long-term policy roadmaps for deep decarbonization.

Prior to joining Agora, Samarth was a research scholar at the interdisciplinary Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group. His work has resulted in several publications across diverse fields, including energy economics, communication science, and geo-informatics, with an emphasis on advancing the energy transition. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Economics from TU Dresden.

Samarth is an alumnus of EIT InnoEnergy dual master’s program, earning master’s degrees in Energy Technologies from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Energy Engineering and Management from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad.
