Dr. Simon De Stercke

Simon De Stercke joined the data team of Agora Think Tanks (Agora Energiewende, Agora Industry and Agora Agriculture) as Technical Project Manager in 2023. He assists in the development of tools such as the Agorameter, and the management of application back-ends.

Previously, Simon worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London, where he also obtained his Ph.D. for research on the urban water-energy nexus. He maintains research collaborations with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in the field of energy demand. At IIASA he developed the long-term energy use database PFUDB as a research assistant in 2014. Simon is trained as an electromechanical engineer with a specialisation in energy technologies and holds a master's degree in environmental management.
