Akbar Bagaskara

Akbar is a researcher in power systems at the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electric Power Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung. After graduating, he worked as a power system engineer at a consulting firm, PT Quadran Energi Rekayasa. He earned two years of experience in power system analysis, including research and hands-on experience.
He pursued a master’s degree in Electric Power Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. During his master’s degree, he researched power systems, electricity pricing simulation, and power generation operation and planning.
He also had hands-on experience working on a project collaborating with a Swedish start-up company, Stella Futura AB, within RA International Camp Mogadishu, Somalia. During his study abroad, he had the opportunity to do an Internship at Volvo Penta AB, which he researched regarding optimization of Electrical machines in Marine application.
