Felipe Barcellos e Silva

Felipe Barcellos e Silva is a Brazilian researcher focused on energy policy and climate change. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and a graduate degree in Urban Mobility and Contemporary City from the School of Architecture and Urbanism Escola da Cidade (São Paulo/Brazil).
Since 2016, he has been a member of the technical staff of the Instituto de Energia e Meio Ambiente (IEMA), a Brazilian think tank whose purpose is to qualify decision-making processes so that transport and energy systems in the country ensure the sustainable use of natural resources along with social and economic development. His work is dedicated to producing technical-scientific knowledge to support the formulation and evaluation of public policies, having already participated in projects related to all four organization's strategic goals: Clean Air; Low-emissions Urban Mobility; Regional Sustainable Freight Transport; and Clean and Inclusive Power Matrix.
Felipe currently holds the position of Project Leader, focusing on atmospheric emissions
modelling, analysis of energy transition scenarios and policy monitoring in energy and transport
areas. He is also responsible for the energy and industrial processes sectors of SEEG (System for Estimating Greenhouse Gas Emissions), a multi-institutional initiative which produces annual
estimates and diagnoses of greenhouse gas emissions from all economic activities in Brazil.
