Egi is part of ClimateWorks’ Indonesian team, which assesses opportunities and acts as a trusted advisor to stakeholders in enhancing their understanding of policy, politics, and the economic landscape in the region. Egi leads projects in energy policy, power sector transformation, and low carbon development and supports ClimateWorks’ business development.
Energy transition topics became Egi’s passion when he worked for the Indonesian energy think tank Institute for Essential Services Reform as an energy transformation program manager after finishing his master's degree in Energy, Sustainability, and Environment from the University of Auckland. Prior to entering the energy sector, Egi worked with multinational development agencies like UNDP, USAID, and GIZ in climate and energy projects.
Egi started his career at the Indonesian National Council on Climate Change (DNPI) in 2010, just before he graduated from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) with a bachelor's in Applied Climatology. He has worked closely with governments, businesses/ associations, universities, and civil-society organizations in the climate and energy space.
Beyond his working hours, Egi loves to travel, read, and jog. He has also a keen interest in founding an energy startup.
