Norway’s mass market for EVs is a result of government incentive schemes targeting vehicles, fuels and road use, as well as heavy public investments in charging stations. With a stable and clear policy framework and ongoing dialogue between policy makers and end users, Norway succeeded in decarbonising over half of its new car fleet. The availability of charging stations, tax rebates on electric cars to close the price gap with combustion engine cars and behavioral incentives have made today’s EVs mass-market.
