EnerTracks application deadline for virtual Study Tour closes soon
Want to deepen your knowledge of energy transition issues and work with a diverse group of energy transition thought leaders from around the world? There’s still a chance to join our next virtual study tour cohort! Applications for the next the EnerTracks virtual training from 4 October to 3 November 2021 will be accepted on a rolling basis until August 16.
Join the next virtual EnerTracks Study Tour from 4 October to 3 November 2021 hosted by Agora Energiewende and the Renewables Academy (RENAC). The training provides a unique opportunity for climate and energy transformation thought leaders from low- and middle-income countries to participate in a series of tailored workshops, leadership training, and group work—all from the comfort of their home. Through this 5-week interactive online programme, a competitively selected group of 12-18 energy transition professionals will be provided with immersive training in electricity system modelling, design thinking, and renewable energy finance. Applications will be accepted until August 16.
During the EnerTracks Virtual Study Tour, a group of 12-18 participants will:
- Discover how to creatively solve complex problems through the creation of a decarbonisation roadmap for a fictional country
- Take part in interactive energy transition workshops and lectures
- Strengthen your leadership and analytical skills through group work and design thinking training
- Deepen your knowledge of stakeholder engagement through lectures on Germany’s Coal Commission as well as an interactive stakeholder role play
- Complete introductory training on the numerical modelling of power markets and systems
Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a Digital Certificate and access to a selective alumni network of energy transition thought-leaders.
Overall, participants will be expected to dedicate approximately 70 hours over the course of this five week training. This includes:
- Mandatory participation in 33 hours of live and interactive sessions, on average 7 hours per week
- 6 hours of pre-recorded sessions
- 20 hours of group work on the decarbonization roadmap
- 8-10 hours of assignments
We are looking for dynamic, engaged and driven individuals who possess a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a sincere interest in tackling climate change issues and the energy transformation in their home country. Further selection criteria include:
- Be a national of one of the eligible countries (List of Eligible Countries)
- Be currently employed currently at a think tank, non-profit organisation, NGO, other civil society organisation, or in academia working in the power sector or other relevant field
- Have a minimum of five years professional experience in the power or climate sector at the time of application, including management experience
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university, in economics, environmental science, engineering, political science, or similar (Master’s degree preferred)
- A strong understanding of power systems, energy economics, and climate and energy policy, policy instruments / processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
