New power cable to Norway: positive signal for the Energiewende

The expansion of European power networks is moving forward

Berlin, 21 June 2012 - Today's agreement on the construction of a power cable between Norway and Germany is a step forward for the Energiewende in Germany. “Access to storage capacity in the coming decades is of great importance for the success of the Energiewende," said Rainer Baake, Director of Agora Energiewende. "A European network will help to offset the weather-dependent supply of wind and solar power between Germany’s and Europe’s regions."
