The EU's energy transition at a cross-road

Following the publication of our analysis "Energy Transition in the Power Sector in Europe: State of Affairs in 2015" Agora Energiewende offered a webinar where the authors, Mara Marthe Kleiner and Matthias Buck, both from Agora Energiewende, presented its key messages and took questions from the audience during the Q&A session.

The publication addresses the status quo of the European energy transition. Based on recent statistical data, it identifies major developments in the European energy mix and in greenhouse gas emissions by way of accessible charts and graphs. This serves as background for highlighting key political challenges in the years to come such as enhancing energy system flexibility and dealing with inflexible baseload capacity.
